Tau Kappa Iota

ΤΚΙ - Brotherhood Beyond Measure

About Tau Kappa Iota

Tau Kappa Iota (ΤΚΙ) is a collegiate fraternity founded in 2024 with chapters at Louisiana State University and Texas A&M University.

A brotherhood forged in tradition, dedicated to excellence, and committed to lasting bonds.

TKI Brotherhood

Tau Kappa Iota was founded on February 29th, 2024, born from the genuine desire of three individuals who recognized something extraordinary in their Friday night traditions. What began as three friends who simply enjoyed going above and beyond on Friday evenings evolved into a brotherhood that would redefine what it means to celebrate life, tradition, and camaraderie.

The origins of our fraternity trace back to a fateful evening when one of our founders donned a Hawaiian shirt for a night out. What started as a spontaneous fashion choice gradually transformed into the cornerstone of our identity. Week after week, the tradition grew stronger, the Hawaiian shirt becoming a symbol of our commitment to living life with enthusiasm and authenticity. These Friday nights, spent supporting local establishments and building unbreakable bonds, became known as Hawaiian Fridays—the heart of TKI tradition.

On one particularly memorable evening, the three founders—M. Woodson, Q. Hinrichs, and C. Wycoff—made the decision to formalize what had become something greater than themselves. They drafted the Constitution of Tau Kappa Iota, a document that would enshrine the values, traditions, and vision of the fraternity. This constitution outlined sacred traditions including the Pilgrimage from the Bar, the creation of the TKI Mask, and the composition of an entrance essay by prospective members. It also established safeguards to protect the integrity of the organization from those who might seek to undermine its mission.

From those humble beginnings, Tau Kappa Iota has grown into a respected organization with chapters at Louisiana State University and Texas A&M University. We have remained true to our founding principles while expanding our reach, proving that authentic brotherhood built on genuine tradition can flourish and inspire others. Today, TKI stands as a testament to the power of friendship, the importance of tradition, and the enduring value of a brotherhood that celebrates life without reservation.

As we continue to grow, we remain committed to the vision of our founders: a fraternity where academic excellence meets social tradition, where brotherhood is earned and cherished, and where every Friday night is an opportunity to honor the values that define us.

Events & Traditions

The gatherings and traditions that strengthen our brotherhood

Hawaiian Fridays

This is the heart of TKI—a night dedicated to brotherhood, tradition, and supporting our local establishments.

Monday Chapter Meetings

Every Monday Evening

Brothers convene for our weekly organizational meetings held over dinner at a local restaurant. These gatherings serve as the forum for discussing the future direction of our fraternity, addressing chapter business, and maintaining the bonds that connect us throughout the week.

Formal Asian Cuisine Gatherings

Regular Formal Events

An elevated tradition where brothers come together at fine Asian cuisine establishments for an evening of fellowship, exceptional food, and celebration. These formal events exemplify our commitment to both tradition and cultural appreciation.

Winter Retreat

Date To Be Determined

An opportunity for brothers to bond away from campus, strengthen relationships, and reflect on our values and goals for the upcoming semester.

Evil Dog Night 2
